An essential part of maintaining the water in your hot tub is to regularly test, as without testing you will have no idea what the chlorine or bromine, total alkalinity, pH and calcium hardness levels are.
This is fortunately very easily done using 3-way test strips.
Simply take a test strip from the pot, dip it into your hot tub water, swirl it around a few times, then just wait for the prescribed length of time and compare the colour of the pads with the colours printed on the test strip pot.
